First things first, you have to choose what topic you are going to be writing about. Your topic should be fairly simple to understand and it should be the very first headline that readers see when they come to your website; clearly stated and in words that are jargon-free.

Keep It Short and Sweet

One of the most important things to remember when writing your web copy is that the people who come to look at your content, are typically not actually going to read it; they are going to skim through it.

If a business owner or new-to-the-game entrepreneur comes across your article, they are going to want the information and they are going to want it fast. We live in a fast-paced world, and if your content looks more like a novel, you will very likely lose your audience.

In an article written by Henneke Duistermaat, she recommends using broken sentences. It sounds odd, but using broken sentences has the potential to engage your readers even more than using simple, but regular sentences.

Format It For Your Goal

As stated above, when you are writing your website copy, you are writing brief, but engaging content; you are not writing the next great American novel. With that information in mind, It is important that you format your article in an appropriate manner.
