I’m here to tell you that it is if you start to view social media as a venture into long term public relations. Social media can build your community and profits, but that doesn’t happen by accident. You have to design it to be motivating, profitable and helpful to your community. I’m sure that sounds daunting, but I’m here to tell you that it’s not as hard as it seems.

In order to be profitable, in terms of social media, it means getting serious. You have to make sure that your goals as a social media content creator is very specific. It means putting your audience’s interests before your own and measuring results and learning from them. With the right strategic decisions,  it can make your social media presence work hard for your business. We’ve discussed how to streamline your social media presence before, but we’re getting down to the nitty gritty today.

Here are five ways to make your social media posts profitable for your business:

Let people know you’re accepting clients.
It might sound obvious, but you’d be amazed by how many business owners actually forget this step. That’s why it’s crucial to take time to post on social media that you’re accepting clients. It’s even more helpful to add a link to your sales page. Be sure to place that link in all of your social media profiles. You can even ask your followers to feel free to ask you questions on how you can help them.

However, this doesn’t mean that your social media presence should be based around self-promotion. It just means that it should definitely be an aspect of it. It’s a simple step that is also efficient.

Sharing tips through social media that help your followers move forward in their business is super effective. The key is to ensure that the insight is useful to the reader. Make sure that the tip ties in with the same things that your business offers. For example, if you sell a course that helps people organize their office, give them a tip that helps them with an easy filing system. Shoot for something that makes a difference in just five minutes. The faster they can see results the more likely the will be to come back.
